This is our identity, what is yours?

ID: BEŞİKTAŞ FAN

The Beşiktaş board has announced that every fan will have to present a proof of identity before entering the stadium for the derby. Those who do not have an ID card will be disallowed entry. The reason behind this, according to them, is to prevent banned fans from entering the stadium.

Our response, as the SUPPORTERS, is to carry this ID (above picture) on us and present it at the gates. WE ARE BEŞİKTAŞ FANS!

The board should use their creative ideas to ban those who enter the stadium with other intentions. To ban those who are paid to be in there rather than those who spend every penny only to SUPPORT their beloved club.

FREEDOM FOR SUPPORTERS! RESIGN demirören!

Vfl Wolfsburg:0 Beşiktaş:0

We received our first point in the Champions League this season away to Vfl Wolfsburg.
The second half of the game was a positive one for us in terms of play making and despite the opponent droping to ten men after receiving a red card in the 74 minute, we could not put the ball through the goals.

And once again, our fans in Europe (Carsi Berlin) have kept the reputation of the Besiktas fans ongoing in Germany. Their 90minute chanting was clearly heard on the television. They also had a great flare show planned which also looked great when we were viewing the game. We thank them sincerely and hope that they keep up the good work.

Galatasaray:3 Beşiktaş:0

Beşiktaş lost 3-0 to galatasaray in the first derby of season 09/10. galatasaray scored early in the game where Rustu should have easily saved the ball. galatasaray were quite dominant during the first 30 minutes. Beşiktaş began to gain possesion and created a few positions that should have been converted into a goal. Beşiktaş did again gain a few positions during the second half and looked as though we would score soon when Rustu made his presence felt. Again thanks to great decision making by our goal keeper, the opponents scored their second. Soon after the second goal both teams had seemed to tune out of the game and began waiting for the final wistle when goal number three was scored.
There may be some points to include regarding choice of players/subsitutions, tactics etc. but I'll keep that to myself as I am no expert myself.
Was an unlucky and dissapointing night.

Beşiktaş: Rüştü, Ekrem, Sivok, Ferrari, İsmail, Yusuf, Ernst, İbrahim Kaş (68min Holosko), Serdar Özkan, Tabata (46min Fink), Nihat (Bobo)

Gençlerbirliği:0 Beşiktaş:0

Beşiktaş has taken on Gençlerbirliği in the 3rd round of the Turkish Super League at 19 Mayıs Stadium Ankara. The match has ended in a nil all draw.

The match began with both teams trying to play controlled. As Gençlerbirliği tightened the defence, Beşiktaş seemed a tad more dominant.
In the first half most of the game was played within the opponents half.
During the second half, Beşiktaş again seemed to be a tad higher in posession however failed to create a gaol position. Gençlerbirliği found their way around the Beşiktaş defence on more than one occasion but failed to capatilise. Overall, in my opinion, it was a terrible game of football.

Beşiktaş: Hakan Arıkan, Sivok, Ferrari, Erhan (46min Rıdvan), İbrahim Üzülmez (79min İsmail Köybaşı), Ernst, Fink (46min Nobre), Uğur, Tello, Holosko, Nihat

BEŞİKTAŞ and the others

Beşiktaş, within its 106 years, has been the first to accomplish many things. This time, the cause was one that proved Beşiktaş is the peoples team. After the Turkish Football Federation announced that players names are to be written under their numbers, most of our opponents chose to print names of multi million dollar companies on their jerseys. WE decided to have The Turkish Red Cresent logo free of charge.
Our football team carried the Red Cresent logo on thier jerseys during the clash between Antalyaspor. This was done to create awareness of the importance of this organisation to the Turkish community. The Red Cresent is a charity organiation aimed at helping citizens that are in need. Beşiktaş's supporter group Çarşı had also teamed up with The Red Cresent many times before for blood donation events.

This is what we expect from the Beşiktaş board. To be socially aware and responsible. We hope that positive actions as such continue and the board dont change their minds to become one of the sheep in the herd. HALKIN TAKIMI BEŞİKTAŞ !

Top ten football stadiums

Beşiktaş İnönü stadium has been ranked 4th in the Top Ten Football Stadium conducted by Times Online. The location that İnönü is at was a major factor, but ofcourse the great atmoshpere couldnt have been missed.

Heres what they had to say;

4: Inonu Stadium

You can make a case for the Sükrü Saracoglu and the Ali Sami Yen, homes of Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray respectively, but Besiktas’s ground wins the day by virtue of its magnificent location. If they get bored, the fans behind one end can look across the Bosphorus to Asia. But their boys don’t get bored, to judge from the row they kick up. Brilliant atmosphere and a setting that’s unbeatable.
